Wagering requirements

Plain-language definition for casino players.

A wagering requirement (also called playthrough) is the number of times you must bet a bonus amount before it converts to withdrawable cash. A 35× wagering rule on a $100 bonus means you have to place $3,500 in total bets — not lose $3,500 — before the bonus (and any winnings from it) becomes real money.

Most casinos apply wagering to the bonus+deposit combined; a few apply it to the bonus alone. Game weighting matters too: slots usually count 100% toward wagering, table games 10-20%, live dealer 10% or less. Read the bonus T&Cs before depositing — wagering is where most welcome offers stop being competitive.
