RNG certification

Plain-language definition for casino players.

RNG (Random Number Generator) certification is an audit of a casino's slot and table-game outcomes for statistical randomness, performed by an independent lab. Big three labs: eCOGRA, iTech Labs, and GLI (Gaming Laboratories International).

What an RNG cert proves: the game outputs cannot be predicted or biased by the operator. What it doesn't prove: that the RTP table the operator shows you is the one actually deployed — that's a separate audit (look for 'RTP audit' or 'game compliance' certificates). For provably-fair crypto-casino games, RNG certification is replaced by on-chain verification (you can independently verify each outcome from a seed).
